“Long Island’s own Spoda continues to show why he’s an artist to keep an Eye on”

Spoda's music

Spoda’s musical journey begins in Bay Shore, Long Island. He began writing rhymes in Junior High but it would be the encouragement from his peers in High Shcool that would give him an extra push to take it serious. Long Island has a history in Hip Hop birthing legends like Rakim, Public Enemy, and EPMD. Spoda looks to carry on tradition.

Spoda’s music brings you that unapologetic bravado, confidence, and gritty sound with clever wordplay. He also balances it out with introspective music. He got the name Spoda as an inside joke while working at a local Barbershop and it stuck. It stemmed from he not doing what he was supposed to (Spoda to).

Once he began taking his music seriously it would start with him battling anyone saying that they rapped. He’d take on all challenges from any ages, locals or out of towners.

Already having a serious work ethic and confidence in his ability he’d go on to start building his catalog. He started releasing music consistently from 2019, and would build an audience. His grind helped him get established in the NYC scene of rising Mc’s. He’d make a name with other respected artists and with producers like Wavy Da Ghawd, Ghost Dave, and The Standouts.

Spoda’s music captures the sound of where he’s from, and when asked if that was important to him he states “It’s a must the people/world know who you are and where you’re from.” His latest song “Neva” demonstrates that. In 2024 you can expect him to continue the grind and put out more quality music.
