It’s no secret that 64 Boy, or Gregory Craig Brown Jr. as he is more commonly known, is one of the most iconic HipHop producers who has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the biggest names in HipHop such as Chainz, Megan Thee Stallion, Rick Ross, and others. As well as his impressive collaborations, 64 is also known for his unique blend of west coast vibes, trap and R&B, which gives his brand its unique identity.
From his early years in his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, his inspiration was provided by notable legends such as Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre, Jim Crow Boys, Three Six Mafia and other platinum selling artists whose works paved the way for his future success.
During our interview, 64 was asked about his current project Verified.
What is the current project?
“My current project is called Verified, and will focus on the interesting relationship that the music industry has with social media verification, but pushes the boundaries going layers further, to discuss what does being verified truly represent?”
Speaking of Verified, what does it mean to you?
“Being verified as an artist and a man, providing for your family means you’re verified, waking up and walking proudly, knowing that you are following your calling in life, means you’re verified. Knowing that you exist with a full heart and are passing on positivity to friends, family and strangers, means you’re verified. I want to encourage artists to lock deep in themselves and ask the question, “Am I a verified person?”
A single from 64’s Anxiety EP, “In the Air,” has already received more than one million streams on Spotify and is being talked about at clubs across the east coast. Verified will be released later this summer, creating solid buzz within the industry.
It is with great pleasure that we look forward to more upcoming projects, like ” Verified,” to chart, adding to the master collection of 64. The Verified project will be dropping June 24th, 2022, across all major outlets.
