It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
What’s good! My name is BOI BLUE, I’m an independent recording artist and songwriter . Atlanta, Georgia is my home base. I’ve actively been writing, recording and performing music professionally for 10 years. I started off performing in showcases in nightclubs just to build my buzz locally. Since then I’ve single handedly built a great fan base worldwide, I’ve wrote and recorded music with independent and mainstream artists.
Even though my success hasn’t been major yet, I’ve still found a reliable community of people that love, respect, and enjoy my craft, Ive recently started a indie label “9TO5IVE” where I am a co-owner and artist.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Yes! My biggest challenge at first was learning to be consistent because life will throw a lot of curveballs, I had to remind myself to keep going, NO MATTER WHAT! I love challenges now because they’re the greatest teachers.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I really have a lot of strengths, but I specialize if creativity! I’m so creative, I really create what I feel, I do what the music tells me to do. Im a creator’s dream to work with, I love feeding of someone’s uniqueness to build something great. Whether it’s writing songs or writing videos it’s all about that vision, that’s what it’s all about.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
DON’T GIVE UP, GIVE IN! Give into your gift and the universe will open to you.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
A: Success is believing in what you’re doing no matter the outcome, you will only succeed through action, keep going!
What’s next for you?
I’m currently performing and doing shows promoting my upcoming album, it’s getting a great response so far, it’s such and inspiring story about me pulling my self out of depression from losing my mother, and horrible trials in relationships and the struggles of my career. I locked myself in my room for months recording and I created a beautiful body of work. I’m releasing the album in February. My label 9TO5IVE is still in its building stage but we’re planning on creating opportunities and giving back, everything is falling into place.
