Im Ran Blacc CEO of Crown Republik Ent LLC and Artist Of Crown Music Record Label
Journalist-What got you into music and made you realize that it was your chosen path?
My father. He’s done music all my life so it was just something that was in me. A hidden passion of sorts.
Journalist-Can you tell us about the alter egos?
Of course, the first is Ran Blacc which is me, my natural self. Goods, bags and indifferent. The second is HUGH HUS, he is the harder more street side of me. Third is Scholar Hogg, he is the older wiser side of me and lastly there is Blacc N Mild, he is the singer, more passion, softer side of me. All of which come out during my writing process.
Journalist-Tell us about your new album. And what’s the story behind it?
Alter Egos! Its a spin off of my mixtape brand. We finally got to a place where we felt comfortable selling it instead of giving it away. We also we ready to introduce these alter egos to the world in a way that we didn’t lose the energy behind each character that was developed in the mixtape series.
Journalist- What makes your music unique?
I believe it would have to be the genre of music that we are creating. HIPHOP&B is what we call it. Its a more grown style of music, Id say its a more mature, relatable style of music. A mix of 80’s and 90’s type sounds or style but updated to 2020!
Journalist-Any particular artist/band you would like to collaborate with in the future?
Hmmm, I don’t know. A lot of the artist I really admired have passed. And a lot of the artists I always dreamed of working with, Ive done so. Thus I don’t really have anyone off the top of my head that I could say Ive been sitting here dreaming of working with. I do though want to work with anyone that’s making feel good music! That could be anyone really trying to master their craft.
